A Myth

A Myth.  Oil on Canvas, 35" by 50"  October 2014

My mother gold me she'd have my wedding dress professionally packed as an heirloom.  Instead she gave it to my brother's bride to be who never wore it and put it in a damp storage space.  She wrote and asked if I wanted it; yes, I said, so it it came, wrinkled silk taffeta and a hole from rot right over the heart.  I thought that symbolic as I divorced the man I married when I wore it within 3 years...  So I thought it best to make a still life of it and here it is.
